MIPET 10th Edition: International Master in Industrial Plant Engineering and Technologies
Master di 2o Livello, Polytechnic School, Engineering, Genoa University
On this occasion, the 10th edition of MIPET, the International Master Program in Plant Engineering and Technologies, is also presented (Master di 2 Livello Universitariiio) is presented; it is the first International Master of the University of Genoa and the most consildated, supported by Multinational Companies without public contributions for 10 years, which bears witness to the industrial interest as well as the level of placement well above 80% within ths sector. The Master allows, after only 4 months of lessons and exercises, to start working in the field; so by starting in April with classroom experiences, the students initiate their professional career early in the Autumn by working in a Multinational Company of the caliber of ABB, Danieli, Paul Wurth, etc. In fact, MIPET
is fully funded by successful industries that have a global leadership role in plant engineering and that sponsor numerous grants for talented students every year. The 10th edition of
MIPET will begin in April 2019, but the call for applications is already open and the application can be prepared quickly with a simple online service
(www.itim.unige.it/mipet/join)
to participate in the selection phase of April. For years now the MIPET class is international (last edition over 60% of foreigners and many of these Engineers come from Russia, Asia, America and also from Africa, as well as from Europe).
The MIPET Industrial sponsors greatly appreciate the Italian engineers and are excellent opportunities for placement in this context, also with particular attention to young Genoese students, wanting to provide concrete growth opportunities for companies in development on the territory. These are works that normally involve operating from an office based in Genoa or on the National territory where the pulsating heart of many companies is located as well as the mind in charge of Engineering Direction, therefore these jobs usually involve projects of Industrial Plants to be developed all around the world.
In facts, the discussion, during the 1 Year 1 Day meeting, allows each of the various Industrial subjects to present their initiatives and to clearly explain their expectations, proposals and needs. After this discussion, the interview sessions start immediately and last until the evening. It should be emphasized that the industrial and technological excellence of the entities participating in the event and their motivation for the search for young talent is remarkable; the list of participants of the current edition includes ABB, Danieli, Paul Wurth, Accenture, KPMG, Tenova, Siemens, Ansaldo STS, Vernazza Autogru, Sim4Future, Rina, Infineum, Siemens, Staraglass, Siglatech, Bedeschi, Seastema, Intects, Fos Group, NeMea, FISIA, Enginium, Everis, Spindox, Bcube, etc.
STRATEGOS: International MSc (Laurea Magistrale) in Engineering Technology for Strategy and Security
First MSc on Strategic Engineering in Italy and among first ones in the world. Organized by Genoa University in synergy with leading Companies
This occasion is also an opportunity to present STRATEGOS, one among the first Master's Degrees in the world on Strategic Engineering, as well as the first and only one available in Italy.
STRATEGOS addresses the new discipline of Strategic Engineering.
STRATEGOS is a Master Science Degree (Laurea Magistrale) of the Genoa University and aims to create young Engineers capable of combining Simulation, Algorithm Development, Data Analytics, AI / IA (Artificial Intelligence / Intelligent Agents) to support Strategic Decision Making. Indeed the goal is to prepare engineers to interact with Executives and Decision Makers. Due to these reason the trans-disciplinary aspects are fundamental and, in facts,
STRATEGOS is organized by Engineering, DITEN in cooperation with DISPO (International Affairs) and DIEC (Economics) providing trans-disciplinary skills to face challenging problems. Companies of the caliber of Accenture, Ansaldo, Leonardo, PW, Hitachi, Thales, Tenova, Egon Zehnder, Stara Glass, Amiu, Antycip, Nemea, Sim4Future have already joined
STRATEGOS; these will also collaborate with seminars and workshops and will offer students Internships (5-6 months) in the last semester of the course which will be carried out entirely in Companies to promote the growth of the students and reinforce the synergy between the Industrial and Academic world. Also Prestigious Institutions, such as Simulation Team, joined
STRATEGOS and will also offer opportunities to young engineers, such as the NATO M&S Center of Excellence with special attention to the of Dual Use technologies related to applications dealing with Defense and Company Services.
The purpose of this day is clearly multiple: an important objective is to strengthen and renew the strong connection, in Genoa, between the Faculty of Engineering and the Innovative Industrial realities operating at an international level. Transversally, the meeting allows young graduates to face the challenge of their first job interview, to experiment this kind of interaction with main industries and institutions. This is a key test to test the ability of young engineers to deal with companies, to probe themselves in front of an audience other than that faced as a student and that requires an even more mature and professional approach. We must not underestimate the strategic importance that companies must demonstrate and explain to an audience of young people interested in the pursuit of excellence, to be able to capture their attention: these young engineers will be their future, destined to become their present soon and will contribute to the development and renewal of these prestigious industrial realities.
In summary, at the meeting the participation exceeds hundred young people, mostly new graduate engineers interested in starting their career, but in this edition of the event, as in the past, there were also senior students interested in thesis opportunities and young engineers with some years of experience looking for new opportunities. As already mentioned, the event takes place thanks to the collaboration of different parts of the University of Genoa (e.g. Polytechnic School, DIME, Office for Employment Guidance), the Professional Engineering Association and Confindustria; in addition, the EURES European Agency also provides support by presenting further qualified job opportunities, proposed by the European Community, in other Member States.
